For starters, it’s important to be clear about the company regulations around remote work. Unless your company has  an established track record with employees who work from home, some policies will need to be put in place. Some areas that might need discussion are: What hours of the day are employees expected to work?  When should employees be available? What is the expected email response time? How will you evaluate performance and productivity? 

And then there is the way remote work works that changes things from the perspective of human interaction. Working from home has its benefits, but equally comes with its challenges. Many employees find it quite isolating, so it may be a good idea for your company to open the discussion on mental wellbeing during the coronavirus outbreak.

A big part of this shift in approach lies on a logistic and collaboration level. Working from home is going to need the right tools.
