Those with their eye on the ball may have noticed that we recently released several new features, one of which was the hotly requested color coordination for our Categories feature. In all the excitement, some of you may be wondering where exactly you can access these features!

It’s very simple, all you need to do is head to your Settings page, and look for the Categories Editor, where you would normally go to alter any of your existing project categories, general task categories, and note categories. You’ll notice that as well as being able to edit the name and order of those categories, you’ll be able to edit the color of the category.

We’re using a Hex color code system, so should you already know the Hex code of a given color you’d like to use, you can paste it into that area. If you have a color in mind that you would like to use that exists somewhere like your website, but you’re not quite sure what the code for it is, may we recommend a color sampler?

Many exist, you’ll find them as web apps, browser extensions and widgets. It will allow you to get the hex code of a certain color from an image, website, or anything else you can access via your computer.

As well as this, you’ll see when you click the hex code itself, a standard color picker will appear, so should you wish to just pick some shade of blue or otherwise, we’ve made that easy for you too!

Once you’ve setup your Category color codes, head to your Projects page and group by Category. Then you’ll see them all displayed on the page.
You’ll also note the category pie chart up the top left reflects the same colors.

The selection is located up the top right of your screen underneath the search bar.

To see the General Task category colors, head to the Tasks page and group by Projects and General Tasks, then you’ll find the General Tasks at the bottom of the page, underneath your Project Tasks.

For Note colors, head to the Notes page.

If you have any questions about this new feature, or any of our other new features, send an email in to [email protected] and someone will help you out from there.
