Thank you so much to everyone who attended our Nexus Webinar, and to those who asked us such great questions! Whether you were able to attend, or if you missed us on the day and our catching up now, we’d like to share our recording of that with you now!

Q&A Chat Transcripts:
Question: For adding files to a task, is there a way to comment on it so people can see edits?
Answer: You can send a message to users and upload an attachment so it gets emailed to the users. This will allow them to be notified and they can use the reply functionality via email to send responses etc.
Question: do you have to recreate each project in nexus if we are converting from classic?
Answer: You can convert a classic projects into Nexus by using our converting tool. You can also create new projects in Nexus with new a setup.
Question: We have 20+ users – do all users have to change their view from classic to nexus or is it managed by admin?
Answer: While on preview mode, users have to switch to nexus manually so they have an option to go back and forth. When you are ready to fully switch to Nexus we can help you switch all users automatically.
Question: Are archived/finished projects from Classic also accessible in Nexus?
Answer: Yes you will be able to access your Classic projects from Nexus. It can be accessed via the Classic link in the side bar
Question: If you do not have anyone selected, including yourself, can you see all the projects on the main active board?
Answer: Yes if you have view all work permission you should be able to see all projects without being assigned to it. Similar to how Classic works.
Question: Does the board have a compact view for a user with a large number of projects?
Answer: You can collapse the columns so you can see the number of projects in each stage. The cards don’t have a compact view yet but this is something I’ll pass on to the development team.
Question: Can you create silos so not all employees can see financials, employee rates, etc?
Answer: Yes this can be done using permissions. Financial and Sensitive data can be hidden from employees who don’t need to see it.
Question: Can ‘Shared Notes’ in Classic be transferred to ‘Job Notes’ in Nexus?
Answer: Yes when you convert a classic project that has shared notes, it will bring it in Job Notes 🙂
Question: is there a way of uploading expenses in bulk?
Answer: Yes you can use the importing functionality. We have multiple ways to add items. The team will demonstrate it shortly.
Question: Can Nexus do Customer specific Templates?
Answer: You can create item templates and project templates that are customer specific. You will be able to create phases and items with pre-defined items (similar to Classic)
Question: Can Tags still be used in Nexus?
Answer: Yes you can use Tags, Categories in Nexus
Question: Will API calls to Zapier still be supported?
Answer: A new version of the API is in the pipeline so your Zapier integration should be painlessly migrated to Nexus once that is ready.
Question: Can staff members who prefer to stay in Classic while some want to move to Nexus is this an option once Nexus has been fully rolled out?
Answer: Yes this is possible under Preview Access so you have the flexibility to move between Classic and Nexus. When you fully switch to Nexus then all your staff members will be moved to Nexus but they will still be able to access Classic work from Nexus
Question: Will templates from Classic be able to transfer to Nexus?
Answer: Yes we will do this as part of our migration process
Question: Will you cover dependencies?
Answer: Yes we have task dependencies in Nexus. You can set prerequisites and dependencies on items. This can be easily done on the Gantt charts.
Question: When will we have access to switch between classic and nexus?
Answer: Its available now, we can enable it on your account today if you like. Please send us an email at [email protected] and we will sort that out for you.
Question: How long will classic PWF be supported/provided?
Answer: We do not have a hard-stop scheduled, but eventually all accounts will be transitioned to Nexus. Classic data will still be accessible from the Nexus platform.
Question: Are two/multiple users able to edit the task/item description at the same time like a Google doc? Or will it overwrite?
Answer: Yes multiple users can edit descriptions at the same time like Google Doc.
Question: Will there be an option to add a due time with the date or is it still restricted to date only?
Answer: At the moment its date only but I’ll discuss this with the dev team
Question: is Nexus automatically rolled out or do we have to request it? and also, if we choose to have it and we have our projects in classic, will they be in “classic” but the view won’t be the classic style, it will be nexus?
Answer: At the moment we are rolling out on Request basis. You can have Preview Access that allows you to switch back and forth between Nexus and Classic but when you fully transition to Nexus then you will still have access to Classic projects via the ‘classic’ section in Nexus
Question: On the sidebar – can you create more “boards”? For example, we have active projects and retainer projects. Our retainer projects have 10x as many tasks as an active project, and we like to keep them separate.
Answer: Great suggestion Jess! This is something we have added to our roadmap 🙂
Question: If I have fully transitioned to Nexus and there are still some projects in the Classic tab, when I go into those projects will the view be the Classic view or Nexus view? Or will it take me back to Classic PWF entirely for those projects?
Answer: It will be in the Classic View
Question: When you add contacts to a project, and we have more than one contact for the company, can we nominate the project lead at a project level?
Answer: Great idea! We will pass that feedback on to our Dev team.
Question: For Staff, will there still be Staff and Contractors?
Answer: Yes we still have Contractors for existing accounts already using this feature
Question: Will an API currently used through Salesforce to ProWorkflow work the same way?
Answer: Nexus API is on our Roadmap. We will be announcing the plan on how to move to Nexus API in the months to come.
Question: Is there a place to see all the quotes, like classic?
Answer: Yes we have Quotes and Invoices sections which can be accessed from the sidebar menu
Question: Can expenses that have been input into XERO, now be automatically synced to the relevant ProWorkflow job, without having to type in
Answer: Unfortunately expenses from XERO won’t sync back to ProWorkflow
Question: Can time still be entered through direct entry instead of calendar/drag and drop view
Answer: We have a few different ways to add time:
Time Tracker
Manual Entry from the top menu/items
Time sheet page (drag and drop view)
Direct Entry view is still something we have on our roadmap.
Question: Timesheets – can you have colour coded between billable jobs and Non billable jobs, to be able to easily see quickly break up.
Answer: Yes, we have added symbols to distinguish billable vs non billable time entries.
Question: Can permissions be given like classic to access to quotes and invoicing.
Answer: Yes we have permissions similar to Classic however there has been a lot of improvements in this area
Question: Is this margin an input or is it based upon a cost per hour (i.e. an output)?
Answer: It can work both ways. We have provided a lot of flexibility in this area. You can also set markups as well.
Question: does Nexus cost more?
Answer: It’s the same price 🙂

Question: Do clients have the same view or do they have to switch to Nexus as well?
Answer: Once you fully move to Nexus, clients will have a similar view in Nexus.
Question: What are the financial visibility tools across all your projects – i.e. intended billings across next 6 months for in progress projects?
Answer: You can get project financial visibility on all projects. You can turn forecasting columns in the view and this will give you more insights. In regards to the future billing milestones, this is something we are planning to add
Question: Will PWF eventually convert over to Nexus and the classic become obsolete?
Answer: You will have access to classic data even you have fully converted to Nexus.
Question: Will Classic PWF ever be completely phased out?
Answer: We will phase out classic at some point but your data will be still accessible via nexus
Question: When will the Nexus version be available?
Answer: We can turn Nexus on for your account today! Please email [email protected] and we will sort that out for you.
Question: Is training included in the price of Nexus or is this and additional cost?
Answer: Yes training and support is free!
Question: Do templates auto transfer from Classic to Nexus, or do they need to be recreated?
Answer: We will create a migration script for this so you don’t have to manually create them
Question: Can the working hours on individual staff members be unique? And have that reflected in reporting? E.g. Staff A works 30 hours per week, Staff B works 40 hours per week
Answer: Yes this is on our roadmap. Q3/Q4 this year 🙂
