ProWorkflow has a longstanding relationship with www.Fastservers.net. They are in our opinion the most professional, dedicated server facility we've come across. Here's some further info about Fastservers, servers and account security.
Data & Account Security
All subscription accounts are separate installations on the server. All accounts use 128 bit secure certificates (HTTPS). Accounts use independent Microsoft SQL databases and all staff have privacy/confidentiality contracts in place. The accounts cannot be URL hacked and are hidden/excluded from search engines. No usernames or passwords exist in written or offline form.
The only access to the subscription servers is by remote desktop, restricted to ProActive Software's internal company IP addresses.
Backup Information
ProActive Softwares does backups 6 hourly on our subscription servers, so 4 times a day, account data is backed up internally on seperate drives on the server. ProActive Software has a contract with our service provider Fastservers to provide a remote 14 day retention backup. This means they store the past 14 days of backups. Older backups are overwritten. (ie: FS's copy of today’s data will be deleted after 14 days).
In addition, in the 'Administration' section of ProWorkflow there is a 'Database Download' tool built in. This allows you to download your own copy of your accounts database for storage locally on your PC or Mac.

Fastservers uses the latest in camera systems to monitor both interior and exterior Fastservers facilities 24/7 and videos are archived for 45 days. Access is limited to authorized personnel only, and strictly enforced by electronic access cards, biometric scanning, and guards.
Exclusive to data centre employees and engineers that have passed a stringent security clearance, the data centre main floor requires additional proper clearance and is protected by bullet-proof glass, with the server area able to withstand F4 tornados and wind speeds of up to 200 MPH.
Fastservers features advanced fire suppression systems, surge suppression, specialized heat and smoke sensors, separate fire zones below the floor and above the ceiling, raised flooring for improved server environment, as well as temperature, humidity, static and airborne particle controls. Fastservers keep a supply of drives, network cards, processors, motherboards and every other piece of equipment that has even a remote chance of failure, and also uses a multiple-SCSI backup cluster system for data storage and recovery at any time. The fire suppression system utilizes laser triggered sensors and is completely waterless, in the event of a fire an alert will be sent to fire crews as well as data centre employees, and the oxygen will be removed from the room to extinguish the fire.
The Fastservers data centre utilizes N+1 power redundancy, meaning all power sources have a failover, with a third unit on hand should the backup fail. Each individual server cabinet has a separate power connection with breaker boxes at the end of each row of servers with each server's transformer being part of the redundancy. Should the power supply connection to the utility company fail, two power generators are stored on-site capable of being up and running within 15 seconds. Fastservers maintains contracts with 4 local fuel companies enabling an unlimited source of power, indefinitely if needed.
When locating the datacenter, Fastservers locations must meet 7 requirements.
- Reduced risk of natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes)
- Reduced risk of terrorism threats
- An ample supply of clean and stable power to meet the 100% uptime guarantee
- Fast fibre optics with direct peers to major network access points and massive volumes of reliable bandwidth
- N+1 redundancy on power and cooling within the data centre facility
- Remote location with a minimum of 250 miles from the nearest major airport or metropolitan area
- Highest level of security to meet the demands for compliance hosting
All Fastserver's staff are under extensive confidentiality agreements and will always treat information as sensitive.
